What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage?

Sometimes referred to as manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), relieves oedema (swelling) caused by lymphedema which occurs when a medical treatment, or illness, blocks your lymphatic system.

It reduces pain, bruising and swelling along with reducing scarring.

How does Lymphatic Drainage Massage work?

MLD involves very gentle massage techniques to manipulate specific areas of your body to help the built up lymph to move to an area with a high concentration of working lymph nodes.

Can Lymphatic Drainage Massage help me - and what should I expect?

If you are recovering from a medical treatment which has caused or has potential to cause lymphedema then you can benefit from this type of gentle massage.

MLD is used for post plastic surgery (e.g arms, neck, abdomen, legs etc), post operative surgery and post cancer treatment where needed.

If you have a query regarding whether MLD is right for you, don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can discuss it further.
